Jaeger LeCoultre Watch Company

Jaeger LeCoultre was founded in Le Sentier Switzerland in 1833 by Antoine LeCoultre. Their revolutionary pushbutton design made Swiss watches easier to set and adjust. In 1931 the Reverso wristwatch collection was released and designed with Polo players in mind as the watch could be flipped to a metal back during the match to prevent the crystal from being cracked by the club. Today Reverso timepieces are designed in classic classique and modern styles and are available in automatic and manual mechanical or quartz movements. the Reverse Duo keeps track of two time zones while lady models have diamonds, mother of pearl, florale, duetto and joaillerie styles. The JLC Atmos clock is a timepiece of almost perpetual movement and is energy efficient. Invented in 1928, the Atmos clock has been the Swiss government’s official gift for VIP guests since 1950. It is powered by small temperature and atmospheric pressure changes in the environment, and can run for years without human adjustment. The Atmos clock is known for its accuracy: the moon-phase model accumulates a one-day discrepancy only once every 3,821 years. In 1956, a Memovox featuring the Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 815 became the first self-winding alarm watch in history, while shortly thereafter the company celebrated its 125th with the Memovox Worldtime. In 1959, the Memovox Deep Sea was equipped with a specific alarm to remind divers to begin their ascension, and in 1965, the Memovox Polaris watch was released with a patented triple case back to optimise the transmission of sound under water. The latter model would go on to inspire the current Master Compressor and AMVOX1 and AMVOX2 Aston Martin watch lines. It was reproduced in 2008 under the name Memovox Tribute to Polaris. JLC makes their wrristwatches in stainless steel, two tone, 18K pink rose, yellow and white gold, and platinum and other popular watches include Master Ultra Thin Perpetual, Master Control Eight Days, Navy Seals, and Deep Sea Chronograph Cermet.
