Baume & Mercier was founded by two brothers Louis-Victor and Celestin Baume back in 1830 in Les Bois, which is a village in the Swiss Jura region. Their motto was “accept only perfection, only manufacture wrist watches of the highest quality” and this attention to detail has served this brand well for almost 200 years. They expanded into London U.K. in 1921 and began to specialize in non-traditional shapes for their timepieces. The company has stayed true to its original design priciples and current collections are made in stainless steel and 18K rose gold with diamonds and styles include: Clifton, Classima, Hampton, and Capeland Chronograph collections for men, and the Hampton and Linea collections for women. B&M are now part of the Richemont Group Swiss Watch Corporation.
